5 ways to look more stylish (for men)

Black man

Having an eye for stylish outfits is great. However, we may feel stumped about how to wear said clothes sometimes. Not to worry; here are a 7 ways to help you dress smart at all times:

  • When to tuck: For your button down shirts, if they are too long in front and back, and short and curved along the side, stuff that shirt down your pants. Otherwise feel free to have them out.
  • Blazer tricks: You know your blazer fits if your fist fits between your jacket and stomach. Also, folding blazers from the inside out will protect it from wrinkles. Finally, align your side up against the wall. If the shoulder pad touches the wall first, the jacket’s too big.
  • Tie tricks: Make sure to tie your tie so that it reaches your belt buckle and not any longer. Also, your tie width should match your lapel width.
  • Tee shirt trick: For a great fit, the seam that separates sleeve and body of the shirt should fall right at the corner of your shoulder. Also, keep it at a decent length. Your t-shirt should be between the middle of your belt and above the middle of your zipper. To avoid shrinkage, soak it in a bath of hot water and hair conditioner for five minutes, then stretch it back.
  • Pant tricks: To check for fit, throw an elbow inside the waist area of the pants. As the length of an arm from elbow to fist is roughly the size of an average man’s waist. To fix a stuck zipper, rub the teeth with a pencil. Graphite acts as an alternative lubricant.
  • Belt tricks: for longevity, hang your belt vertically and away from direct light, as coiling it can crack the leather and sunlight fades it with time. also, The right sized belt should leave a few inches of leather to the left of the buckle after fastening, just so you can reach the first belt loop.
  • Shoe trick: Instead of Olive oil, try shoe conditioner on leather instead. Another way to clean suede is with stale bread crusts, which absorbs stains and oils.
Try out these simple style hacks and let us know how they work for you.
